Meet Sydney McCaughan
Registered Massage Therapist
- Sydney Lee McCaughan is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and Traditional Thai Massage Practitioner.
- Holds RMT licenses with NHPC in Alberta and CMTBC in BC.
- Currently in her second year of an Acupuncture Diploma program in Calgary, she is deepening her expertise in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).Prior to pursuing this diploma, she trained in 5 Element Acupressure (150+hours), an approach that integrates mind, body, and spirit.
- Completed a 150+ hour certificates at the Thai Massage School of Thailand in Chiang Mai in 2015.
- Graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s 2200H program in Victoria in 2017.
- Has over 500 hours of yoga teacher training from India, Thailand, and Yoga Outreach.
- 8 years of clinical experience rehabbing sports injuries, surgeries, chronic pain, migraines, postural issues, frozen shoulder, thoracic outlet syndrome and various other conditions with manual therapy and exercise intervention.
Services
Registered Massage Therapy in Calgary is the assessment and planned treatment of soft tissues (muscles, ligaments, tendons) and joints of the body. It provides relief and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain. Therapists apply soft tissue manipulation and some joint mobilization techniques to assist the body’s efforts to heal and relieve pain. Forms of treatment include; deep tissue, swedish relaxation, myofascial release, pin & stretch techniques, fascial stretch therapy™ , trigger point therapy, and hot stone massage.
